Brain Beer?

At Dock Street Brewing Co. in Philadelphia, lately it's less about the booze, and more about the brains. As in "BRAAAAAAAIIIINS," the surprising new ingredient for a zombie-themed beer.
Brewed in honor of "The Walking Dead," a post-apocalyptic zombie show on AMC, the beer, named "Walker," uses smoked goat brains to add what the brewers say are "intriguing, subtle smoke notes." Lest the drinker forget they're imbibing brains, brewers also pitched cranberries to the brew, for a color they describe as "sinister" and "bloody."
goat brain beer
This isn't an ill-timed April Fools joke. These are goat brains, and they're about to be smoked and added to the Walker brew.

In a pun-filled release on Facebook, Dock Street says the American pale stout is the brainchild of head brewer Justin Low and representative Sasha Certo-Ware. "In true walker fashion," the release adds, "don’t be surprised if its head doesn’t hang around forever."
"The beer is actually really good,” Certo-Ware told Philly.com, seeking to sway potentially headstrong drinkers.
Walker will be available at the brewery on the evening of Sunday, March 30, to coincide with the season finale of the show. For diehard fans, seems like a no-brainer.

Instant Karma At Its FINEST!!

If this video were a food, its instructions would read, "Instant karma. Just add water and mix with included road rage."

After a minute of nonstop tailgating by a huge truck, the woman in this video, identified only as "Florida Driver," is passed by the vehicle, whose driver flips her the bird and yells an unintelligible insult.
"I couldn't move over because there were trucks in the right lane," Florida Driver writes in the video description, "and I sure as heck wasn't going to speed on a rainy day with the roads being as slick as they were."
The videographer, who says she was driving in Tampa, writes that she never mouthed off at the guy, didn't brake check him, and -- except for holding up her phone -- was paying attention to the road.
Shortly after flipping the bird, the driver of the truck loses control of his vehicle, spins across a median and through oncoming traffic (though no one was hit). He comes to a rest only after taking out a light pole.
According to Florida Driver, "He initially fled the scene of the accident, but thanks to this video he has been caught and charged."
In a release obtained by The Huffington Post, Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the driver, identified as Jeffrey Travis White, was later charged with leaving the scene of a traffic crash.
"Using information contained in the video provided by the witness, State Troopers located White at his Tampa residence and arrested him for Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash, Careless Driving and failing to wear his seatbelt," the FHP release notes.
Looks like the only injury was to this guy's pride. And probably his insurance premium.

Deadly Playground

Razor blades glued to playground equipment to hurt children? I wondered how true this story was, so I did some research and found that yes, it is real!

As depicted in the photographs displayed above, on 24 March 2014, a 2-year-old child received minor injuries while playing in an Illinois public playground, with the cause of his injuries determined to be a series of razor blades that someone had maliciously glued to the children's equipment in that playground.

Less than a week after the first day of spring began bringing children to Quad-City parks, a 2-year-old boy was injured with a cut on his hand from razor blades that had been glued to playground equipment in an East Moline park.

The boy's father treated him at home, and went with police to Millennium Park, where they say they found and removed around a dozen razor blades on the monkey bars, a slide and on the ground, glued onto park equipment with a white, putty-like substance.

Police spent several hours searching the city's other 15 parks.

Officers discovered another incident of vandalism at a nearby park, but Foltz said he was not sure if the two were related.

Foltz said police weren't sure how long the razor blades were there. He also had no information on a possible suspect or suspects.

Officers removed the razor blades and collected other evidence, Capt. John Reynolds said.

Facebook 'No Swearing' Campaign ~~ Is It Real?

Claim:   Facebook has instituted a 'no swearing' campaign and threatened to lock the accounts of users who employ profanity.

FALSE

No swearing campaign on facebook

As of march 20, 2014, we at facebook will be launching a "no swearing" campaign. anyone caught using profanity will have their account locked further investigation.

This due to the new laws issued by our legal department (section 182 P34b) as new advertisers have petitioned for a "cleaner" family friendly social network.

If a user continues to use profanity the account will be shut down and a permanent ban will be placed into effect immediately.

Origins:   This message purportedly issued by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg claims that beginning on 20 March 2014 Facebook will be implementing a 'no swearing' campaign in order to create a "cleaner family friendly network" at the request of advertisers, and that users caught swearing on that social network will have their accounts locked pending further investigation, with repeat offenders having their accounts permanently and immediately shut down.

The message is just a hoax: Facebook has made no announcement nor sent any messages about launching an anti-profanity campaign like the one described here.

Facebook users have access to profanity filters that will block posts containing certain offensive words, and Facebook's Community Standards and Statement of Rights and Responsibilities sets down some guidelines about posts that might be considered hate speech, bullying, or harassment, but Facebook has no (and is not implementing any) general overall ban on swearing.

Not to mention I think Mark Zuckerberg would know how to spell CAMPAIGN!

Demi Lovato Shaves Her Head

Looks like Demi Lovato was in the mood for a change.

The singer dyed her hair hot pink back in January for her Neon Lights tour, but it didn't take long for her to to get bored of her look.
So she decided to switch things up. Demi went for an edgy new cut and shaved off part of her hair (and her long extensions in the process). She posted the pic of herself on Twitter—all smiles with the new 'do—under the caption, "IDGAF #NEONLIGHTSTOUR." IDGAF is, of course, short for "I don't give a f--k." Shaved hair, don't care!

Demi also posted another pic of her shaved off pink extensions, writing, "So…This happened…Oops."
This edgy new style clearly suits the star perfectly. We love that Demi's experimenting with new looks instead of just keeping the same old, same old.
Last selfie of my shaved head photo shoot. 💗💗💗😝

So, what do you think? I think she is gorgeous no matter what she does with her hair!

Is there such a thing as a "Snow Snake"?

Photograph shows a deadly snow snake.

FALSE
This is the deadly snow snake. It has bitten 3 people in the state of Ohio and one in Pennsylvania. It’s been spotted in other states. It comes out in the cold weather and at this time there is no cure for it's bite. One bite and your blood starts to freeze. Scientist are trying to find a cure. Your body temperature start to fall once bitten. Please stay clear if you have see it. Please forward this and try to save as many people as we can from this deadly snow snake.

Origins:   There is no such thing as a "snow snake," at least not as described above, a form of white serpent that "comes out in the cold weather" and bites victims, causing their "blood to freeze." Snakes, like other reptiles, are cold-blooded creatures that depend upon external warming to regulate their body temperatures and cannot survive outdoors in snowy climes — species of snakes that inhabit areas with colder climates generally go into a hibernation-like state known as brumation during the winter months, burrowing or seeking other forms of shelter where they can remain warm and dormant until the season passes.

Some species of snake can exhibit a white coloration due to the genetic mutation of albinism, but the photograph displayed above appears to be a white-colored rubber snake rather than an image of a true albino.

Common Pit Bull Myths and Truths

Pit bulls are inherently dangerous and may attack at any time: According to the American Temperament Testing Society (ATTS), the pit bull is no more vicious than the golden retriever or the beagle. The ATTS test puts various breeds through a series of tests dealing with unexpected situations and strangers. Dogs that possess any signs of unprovoked fear or aggression automatically fail the test. The pit bull passed with a high 83.9%, compared to the average 77% scored by other breeds.
Like any other dog, a pit bull that is properly raised and socialized in a loving environment will remain friendly and faithful. Unfortunately, as the pit bull still remains one of the most highly abused and exploited breeds in the world, there also remain sad examples of poorly bred and mistreated pit bulls that are the byproduct of irresponsible breeders and dog fighters or “dog men” as they like to call themselves. These unfortunate animals that are improperly raised and unsocialized may show temperaments that are far from those of the authentic and well cared for pit bull.
Pit bulls have lock jaws: One of my all time favorite myths. It seems that the media is obsessed with portraying the pit bull as some sort of superhuman monster with immortal capabilities. However, our good friend, “science,” has yet again proven this rumor to be nothing more than a jaw dropping lie. These are dogs, with a bone anatomy just like that of any other dog, except they possess a lot more strength and willpower. However, they are not carnivorous dinosaurs.
Dr. Lehr Brisbin of the University of Georgia states, “To the best of our knowledge, there are no published scientific studies that would allow any meaningful comparison to be made of the biting power of various breeds of dogs.”

A pit bull that attacks other animals will go after people next:Animal aggression and human aggression are two completely different things. Pit bulls were once trained to fight and bring down large animals, hence the possession of animal aggression in some pit bulls (or any other breed for that matter!) is not unnatural, and definitely NOT a reason to euthanize the dog. It deserves to be given a chance to live in a loving home just like any other dog. However, with that being said, while pit bulls were once bred to fight other animals, they were at the same time, bred never to possess any signs of human aggression. This is what enabled a “dog man” to grab his dog by the collar, or even the scruff of the neck, and pull it out of a fight without ever getting bitten. Hence, any pit bull that shows signs of aggression towards people is not at all typical of the breed, and should therefore be evaluated by a professional animal behaviorist and a veterinarian (in case there are medical issues at hand), or be humanely euthanized. These dogs should NEVER be bred, as they possess an unfit temperament.
Adult pit bulls should not be adopted, because their background is unknown: This one really gets under my nails. I believe that every dog deserves a chance. Papers and certificates don’t mean much these days, considering the intolerable amount of backyard breeders that use them to blind their customers. Furthermore, when putting up dogs for adoption, responsible shelter and rescues always ensure that the dogs are properly temperament tested, and look at the animal’s temperament as a way to judge whether the dog will be able to be adopted out into a new home.

Pit bulls and children do not belong together: Pit bulls are known for their ability to handle a lot of rough and tumble play that children can dish out. They make wonderful companions for kids, and are great family pets when properly trained and socialized. However, children should be taught how to properly interact with dogs and when to respect quiet time. Children and dogs (no matter what breed), should never be left alone without adult supervision.
Pit bulls are great guard dogs: NO! Sound pit bulls make LOUSY guard dogs. They are inherently much too friendly. Any pit bull I know would much rather lick a robber to death than ever attack one. However, being a very loyal breed, the pit bull will protect its owner if it feels that there is a threat. Also, due to its strong will power and eagerness to please its owner, if a pit bull is taught to be aggressive towards people at a very early stage in its life, and if this behavior is reinforced, then the dog will most likely become aggressive towards people as an adult. This is why an emphasis must be placed on responsible ownership, and rather than punishing the breed, we should punish the deed.
